Water Conservation
Contrac® is partnered with the EPA's WaterSense program and manufactures WaterSense-certified toilets that help homeowners conserve water and save money without sacrificing product performance.
Toilets marked with the WaterSense label mean that they use 20-35% less water per flush. By replacing just one old fixture with a water-saving toilet can save up to 15,141 Liters of water a year per person.
Alliance for Water Efficiency
Contrac® is also a member of Alliance for Water Efficiency, a non-profit organization dedicated to the efficient and sustainable use of water. Serving as a North American advocate for water efficient products and programs, Alliance for Water Efficiency provides information and assistance on efforts of water conservation.
Water-Saving Toilets
Although about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, only 3 percent is fresh water. From that, only 1 percent is available for drinking making water a finite resource. With growing populations, rising temperatures and excess use of water, we run the risk of experiencing extreme shortages in the future if no change occurs. By conserving water through the use of water efficient fixtures such as HET toilets, faucets and appliances we build a stronger defense for preserving the environment and our future generations. It also can save families money on their water bill. In response to this dilemma, Contrac® has focused their attention on manufacturing high-performance water saving toilets known as HETs to encourage consumers to do their part to conserve water.
